Picture is worth a thousand words
A master's degree in Visual Informatics at Masaryk’s Faculty of Informatics makes you ready to work with all kinds of image information and spatial models. Study the unique branch of computer science to learn all about visualisation, computer graphics
and vision, virtual and augmented reality, image and video processing, 3D modelling, machine learning, human-computer recognition, graphic design, and more.
Choose your specialty
Visual informatics are a vast ocean of possibilities and it is up to you to choose which way to sail. Choose one of the three specialisations to give your mastery of computer science a clear direction.
Go for the exciting Computer Games Development specialisation to become an expert on the graphical aspects of multimedia entertainment software. You will learn all there is to know about 2D and 3D imaging, animation, and modelling, along with virtual and augmented reality to get yourself ready for a career in the game industry.
If you choose Computer Graphics and Visualisation, you will get accustomed to the world of data visualisation and graphics, from the core principles to the latest breakthroughs, together with a strong base in standard informatics. Master algorithms for real-life rendering, multidimensional datasets, or other complex visual outputs and test your skills on real projects during practical seminars.
From basics to master level, Image Processing and Analysis specialisation provides you with knowledge and skills to master image editing via mathematical morphology
or deformable models. You will use these in your career to develop and deploy complex imaging systems in any field imaginable, such as medicine, meteorological data processing, geography, biometric applications, and so on.
Graduate profile: See the big picture
From mobile screens to systems with high computing power, the programme makes you an expert in the design, development and deployment of graphic applications, multimedia processing systems, computer games, VR/AR, or pro-level graphic design. That opens the door to pursue a career as an analyst, app developer, designer,
or a research/development team leader. Choose your own path.
