Aerospace Technology
deadline
The focus of the two-year follow-up Master's degree programme is on academic competences and students are provided with advanced education in the field of aircraft design.
The student of mechanical engineering design will be acquainted with branches of physics (aerodynamics and mechanics of flight), design rules and procedures for aircraft design (atmospheric or cosmic) and will be presented with individual aircraft systems. Moreover, the graduates will be equipped with the knowledge of aircraft design, methods for aerodynamic analysis, aerodynamics formulas, load determination methods and strength analysis. Our students will be able to design aircraft systems and analyse the reliability of the systems.
As part of their studies, students will also get acquainted with English aviation terminology and will take part in an appropriate language training. As a part of their thesis, they will be required, under professional supervision, to come up with a technical solution to an engineering problem.
The main goal of the follow-up Master’s degree programme is to prepare professionals who can pursue a career in the field, in technology companies in the Czech Republic or abroad.
Graduate profile:
The curriculum of our programme is designed to give the student well-rounded knowledge of aviation and aerospace. The students will be equipped with theoretical knowledge of aircraft design processes. They will acquire knowledge of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, theory of strength of aircraft structure and aircraft design. Moreover, they will get acquainted with the theory of reliability and service life of aircraft structures.
The programme focuses on several key professional competences and skills in the field of theory of aircraft structure strength theory, construction and aircraft design. The student will also learn about structural materials, their processing and effective use of weight when designing aircraft structure load-bearing parts. Moreover, the students will also learn the principles of designing aircraft with respect to production and operation technologies.
The graduate can pursue their career in design, mechanical engineering design or research and development departments in the aviation industry in the Czech Republic or abroad, basically everywhere where they can use their knowledge of design and production and systems with high durability. With the knowledge acquired, they can also participate in engineering activities dealing with flow.
