The student is fostered to use the theoretical knowledge and experience gained through own research activities in an innovative manner. He is able to efficiently use the gathered knowledge for the design of own and prospective solutions within their further experimental development and applied research. The emphasis is put on gaining both theoretical and practical skill, ability of self-decisions, definition of research and development hypotheses to propose projects spanning from basic to applied research, ability to evaluation of the results and their dissemination as research papers and presentation in front of the research community.
Graduate profile:
The doctor study program "Teleinformatics" aims to generate top research and development specialists, who have deep knowledge of principles and techniques used in communication and data wired and wireless networks and also in related areas and also in data/signal acquisition, processing and the back representation of user data on the level of application layer. The main parts of the studies are represented by areas dealing with information theory and communication techniques. The graduate has deep knowledge in communication and information technologies, data transfer and their security. The graduate is skilled in operation systems, computer languages and database systems, their usage and also design of suitable software and user applications. The graduate is able to propose new technology solution of communication tools and information systems for advanced transfer of information.

Research topics
Each prospective Ph.D. student is required to select a convenient scientific research topic and a supervisor. Before applying to participate in the chosen programme, the applicant must contact the supervisor to obtain essential information concerning the doctoral study and thesis (dissertation).
How to apply
The procedures begin with the submission of an electronic application form. After being filled in, the document has to be printed, signed, and sent out by post (preferably a registered postal service) to the FEEC BUT, including the required attachments.
An application will be considered only if the appropriate charge of EUR 24 has been paid.
When applying, proceed as follows:
- Choose a study programme.
- Fill in the application form
- Pay the charge of EUR 24 (you will receive the details after submitting the application) and send out the signed form, together with all relevant supplementary items, to the FEEC.
The application and charge payment deadline for the academic year is May 15 of the given year; the supplementary documents to accompany the application form are specified below.

What are the required documents?
- A certified copy of an original degree certificate or an equivalent item of evidence issued by a foreign higher education institution to confirm the completion of studies (a copy of the applicant’s BSc. or BEng. certificate)
- A letter validating the recognition of foreign higher education.
These records (namely, their official hard copies) are obtainable from the competent regional authority and must be delivered to the FEEC in Czech or English, not later than August 31 of the given year.
Where the applicant cannot provide a certificate of recognition, they are allowed to submit, before or on July 15 of the given year and at the fee of CZK 700, a request for the assessment of education compatibility.
If, for any reason, the documents specified above are not deliverable to the FEEC within the deadline, the applicant may seek an extension, via a well-substantiated request to be submitted before or on September 15 of the given year.
